THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE.
El Pasado
Simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones que han
sucedido en un tiempo anterior y que ya han finalizado, por ejemplo:
He cleaned his
room. El limpió su cuarto.
He broke the window. El rompió la ventana.
He broke the window. El rompió la ventana.
I lived in Buenaventura.
My father worked in a restaurant.
Pasado simple de los verbos regulares.
Los verbos regulares son aquellos que forman su pasado (simple y participio) añadiendo el sufijo "-d" (si el verbo ya termina en "e" solo se añade el sufijo "-d").
Ejemplos:
Walk - Walked.
Listen - listened.
Like - liked.
Love- loved.
Los verbos de una silaba que finalizan en una vocal + una consonante, doblan la consonante y añaden ed.
Stop-stopped
Con verbos acabados en consonante + y, la y se sustituye por –ied.
Study – studied.
Con verbos que tengan delante una vocal, acabados en y se añade ed.
Play- played
Verbos regulares en presente y pasado simple.
