PRESENT PERFECT


THE PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE.


Presente Perfecto
El presente perfecto es en realidad una mezcla entre el presente y el pasado. Es  usado para hablar de acciones en el pasado que tienen importancia en el presente.
Para formar el presente perfecto, se usa el verbo auxiliar "to have" en el presente y el participio pasado del verbo. Para verbos regulares, el participio pasado es la forma simple del pasado.
Usos del presente perfecto

El present perfect es usado para:
  • Acciones que comenzaron en el pasado y que no han terminado aún en el presente.
I have not eat in the past two days
No he comido en los últimos 2 días
  • Acciones que comenzaron y acabaron en el pasado pero que su efecto continua en el presente.
I am not hungry because I have eaten a hamburguer
No tengo hambre porque he comido una hamburguesa
I have bought a house
(Yo) he comprado una casa

  • Acciones que comenzaron y acabaron en el pasado pero que el interlocutor ha situado la acción en un intervalo de tiempo no acabado.
Intervalo temporal no finalizado:
I have been in Canada this year
He estado este año en Canada




PRESENT   PERFECT.
We use the present perfect to connect the past with the present.
My sister has gone to the ball. I´m so sad.

We often use the present perfect:

-To give news
We´ve just gotten an invitation to the ball.

-To say how much we´ve done up to now.
I´ve washed the dishes.

-To ask or say if things have happened up to now.
Have you danced with anyone yet?.

-To say how long something has continued up to now.
He´s been with that girl for ages.

-To say how often things have happened up to now.
I´ve already scrubbed the floor three times today.

-With just, already, and yet

TIME EXPRESSIONS



FOR

-We use for when we refer to a period of time.
I have worked for 10 years.
EVER
-We use ever in questions.
Have you ever made sushi?
Yes, I have OR Yes, I’ve made it.

SINCE
-We use since when we refer to the start of a period.
She has lived in Madrid since 1996.
NEVER
-We use never in negative short answers and statements.
Have you never made sushi?
No, I never have. OR No, I’ve never made sushi




TIME EXPRESSIONS
YET
-Means “until now”, and shows that the speaker is expecting something to happen.
Use yet in present perfect questions and negative statements. Put yet at the end of the sentence.
Questions
Have you read the book yet?
Negative statements
I haven´t read the book yet
ALREADY
-We use already to say something expected did happen. Use already in present perfect questions and affirmative statements. Put already before the main verb or at the end of the sentence.
Questions
Have you already read the book? OR Have you read the book already?
Affirmative statements
I’ve already read the book OR
I’ve read the book already.
